TLC Living Community Ground Breaking Ceremony You are invited to attend the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the TLC Living Community Assisted Living Project on Thursday, September 14 th , from 4:00p – 5:00p.  This 60-unit assisted living development is the product of a public-private partnership that will serve as a catalyst for the redevelopment of the Machesney Town Center (former Machesney Park Mall). TLC representatives, Dignitaries, and Staff will be on-site for the ceremonial ground breaking and will provide brief statements regarding the project.  A map illustrating the general location of the ground breaking event can be viewed here:  https://goo.gl/maps/GmUMaP9cnTT2 .  Attendees and speakers will gather at the tent/podium that will be in place on-site.  We look forward to seeing you there!        ###

YMCA to Build New Playgrounds  at Northeast Family Y Volunteers Needed to Assist   Rockford, IL – The YMCA of Rock River Valley is excited to announce two NEW playgrounds will be added to the Northeast Family YMCA campus in Loves Park! There will be a playground specific to preschool ages and a second designed for youth ages six to 12 years old.    Both playgrounds would not have been possible if it were not for the support from the Berry Family, UTC, Rockford Park District, and the Reno Family Foundation. The Shufflers To Perform At Just Goods Listening Room On Friday September 29, at 7pm, The Shufflers will perform at Just Goods Listening Room located at 201 7 th Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61104-1208. The Shufflers are a Rockford based trio that perform acoustic, soft rock songs from the 60's through today, that make people feel good. The trio consists of: ·       K Dyer, vocals and percussion ·       Brad Stein, vocals and guitar ·       Mark Hayes, vocals and guitar.   The group began as a solo act, when Brad began to play guitar instrumental background music primarily for art gallery openings and other quiet events.
