ROCKTON — Children swarmed around the Macktown Forest Preserve Friday and watched history come alive before their eyes.
Students from the area were able to see people dressed in clothing of the 1800s, sitting outside tents and teepees, and explaining how the people of the Rockton area survived in the wilderness as the community first took shape.
